Let's revive!

I had no time to keep my blog up to date lately. But there wasn't so much news in the project. What's new? Marex wrote MTD driver, so we can access NAND memory in Palm. Marex tried reading and it worked. Writing should work too, but nobody was brave enough to try it. Nobody knows, what will happen. There are two possible endings. It can end up with dead Palm or with hardreset. Possibility of bricking device isn't much tempting... Other thing is, that we don't have NVFS driver yet. So we can't mount memory from PalmOS :-(

But I've got some good news after all. I finally managed to update stable releases. This is interesting mainly for Palm T|T5 users. You can get them as usual at my homepage

Last piece of information is that we've managed to setup OpenEmbedded compilation machine (together with SleepWalker) and we are experimenting with building new images. So maybe I'll have some new images in near future ;-)

About usb network. You need to load g_ether module on your palm and have some support for it in your PC kernel (it depends on your configuration, driver is available in vanilla). Then you just plug-in the cable and you'll get usb0 interface on both devices and you can setup network as usual (ifconfig, route, ...)

It's possible to use network over Bluetooth or via USB cable.

Hello Miska

Is there any possibility that a Palm TX can revive after a Reboot ????

Miska, what do u think about android in tx with your boot? If possible i think this can be really good to your project.
Thx.

Marcelo, have you used reboot and your palm is dead?
if so, you can wait until the batery is complete uncharged, plug the charger and turn it on, but the batery may take moths to uncharge,
what I usualy do is to open the palm and connect both batery contacts with a piece of metal, this will reset the clock and other settings, but you wont lose data.

Rodrigo Rodeigues, thanks, I was thinking on that but need to search on the web how to do it.... thnaks again

Hey guys,
I'm a bit of palm enthusiast (Palm TX) and I'd like to chime in with some questions.

Everyone seems to be asking for news rather than getting stuck in.

With all due respect to the guys that have done a bulk of some amazing development work in the past, wouldn't it be nice for other people to join in and help share the load?
Is there just not enough interest in the community for this to happen?
Where to start?
Has someone clearly framed the 'wifi problem' yet? If so, can they please post it up somewhere?
What are the odds that all the people who ask for news updates could pool brainpower and skills to try and solve the problem?
